Top 10 Cars in GTA 5

The following is a list of the Top 10 Cars in GTA 5, as chosen by the editors of GTA 5 Cars. We having recently written a review for Fastest car in GTA 5, we thought we would do our Top 10 Best Cars in GTA 5. On this list is just cars, no other vehicles, and even then most of the cars are sports cars and supercars.

#10. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Karin Futo

The Karin Futo is one of the best drift cars in GTA 5. The name “Futo” is a diminutive of the working file name during production, dorifuto, a Japanese word for drift. Due to the design of a “drift car” it takes a considerable amount of time to get used to the slippery handling. Despite its relatively small shape, the Karin Futo is classed as a Sports, rather than Coupes or Compacts. This most likely because of its superior performance compared to other cars in its class.

When customizing the Karin Futo, the player can find a brand of rims named ‘Fujiwara’. This makes a reference to the anime Initial D, which popularized the AE86. Fujiwara is the surname of the main Initial D protagonist, Takumi Fujiwara. The rims are very similar to the ones used in the Initial D´s AE86 (black RS Watanabe F8).

Based off of the Toyota Levin Coupe with some cues from the Nissan Skyline R30, the Karin Futo is great fun to drive, and makes an excellent escape or pursuit vehicle in missions. It is also an ideal car to drift since it is a light weight, front engine rear wheel drive car. The only possible disadvantages during a pursuit or escape is that the vehicle is small, lacking the power to move other vehicles, and only has two doors, rather than four.

#9. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Imponte Duke O’Death

The Imponte Duke O’Death is a 2-door armored muscle car in the enhanced version of GTA 5, being exclusively obtained in the single player and therefore absent in GTA Online. It is a specialized variant of the Imponte Dukes.

The Duke O’Death’s design may be a reference to the film Death Race, which revolves around the racing of heavily armored (and armed) road vehicles. Specifically, the 2008 remake features several cars similar in design to the Duke O’Death, including the Karin Kuruma, which also has an armored variant. The car’s overall look also appears to be an homage to the Pursuit Special used by the titular character in the Mad Max movies.

The Imponte Duke O’Death features the same chassis and body as the normal Imponte Dukes, but comes with custom frontal bullbars, a rollcage, an external rollbar with lights attached, decreased ground clearance and protective armor plates covering the windows and windshield. It also features a unique supercharger ram air scoop on its hood

#8. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Truffade Z-Type

The Truffade Z-Type is one of the oldest cars in GTA 5, along with the Hotknife, Duneloader, Rat-Loader, Roosevelt and the old Tractor. It’s a clone of the exceedingly rare and breath-takingly expensive Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic, of which only 4 were constructed, and the related Aerolithe concept car, upon which the Altantic coupes were based.

The Aerolithe concept car had its body panels formed out of Elektron (a magnesium alloy) and Duralumin (an aluminum alloy) sheetmetal. Being combustible, both alloys are notoriously difficult, if not absolutely impossible, to weld. The Aerolithe’s body panels, therefore, were rivetted together along prominent exterior vertical flanges that ran front-to-back along the center line of the car, as well as along the fender crowns. One of the few unique modifications available for the Z-Type is listed as a ‘Skirt’, but what it really consists of is a short running board which fills in the gap between the front and rear pontoon fenders

The Truffade Z-Type has very characteristic handling, with a high top speed and excellent acceleration, but is very prone to tailspins and can be difficult to control. However, in the hands of an experienced driver, it can be a useful getaway car, especially in timed missions.

#7. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Coil Voltic

The Coil Voltic is an all-electric sports car in GTA 5, it is one of the fastest accelerating vehicles in a straight line without upgrades, beating the Overflod Entity XF and Truffade Adder. This is because electric cars have huge amounts of torque available as soon as the engine starts, and because the single-speed transmission has been specially tuned to optimize acceleration, just like the real-life Tesla Roadster. Also, because it has an electric motor instead of an internal combustion engine, the Coil Voltic is one of the very few cars in the game that can’t have a turbo upgrade installed.

Although this car is based on Lotus Elise, the car’s name, Coil Voltic, may be inspired from its electric-driven descendant, the Tesla Roadster (“Coil” refers to Nikola Tesla, the inventor of the Tesla coil, while “Voltic” may refer to Tesla Roadster’s status as an electric sports car).

Being an electric vehicle, the Coil Voltic will not explode when caught fire by jerry can, however, this doesn’t mean the car is indestructible, it can still be destroyed by other means of damage, such as explosives, falling from excessive height or from constant gun-fire. Note that damage caused by fire (such as molotovs or a jerry can) will be eventually destroy the battery, rendering the car unable to drive.

#6. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Bravado Buffalo S

The 2nd generation Buffalo, known as Buffalo S, is a supercharged facelift version of the normal Buffalo, with a new front fascia, rims and taillights based on the Dodge Charger SRT8.

In GTA 5 story mode the main character Franklin owns the Bravado Buffalo S. The Buffalo S has a little bit better acceleration than the regular Bravado Buffalo. It’s definitely one of the greatest 4-seated cars in GTA 5 alongside the Dewbauchee Exemplar and the Ubermacht Oracle. Oracles may have better top speed, but the Buffalo can defeat them in handling and acceleration.

The enhanced edition of GTA 5 features a unique Buffalo S with a Sprunk livery, exclusively for players returning from PS3/Xbox 360. This variant appears during the Stock Car Races and will become available in each protagonist’s garage once the player wins the 4th stock car race. The stock cars may be modified further in Los Santos Customs including the ability to respray the underlying color. The sponsorship decals can not be changed or removed.

#5. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Karin Kuruma Armored

The Karin Kuruma (Armored) is an armored variant of the Kuruma. It was introduced to GTA Online as part of the Heists Update.

This vehicle is armored similarly to the Duke O’Death. It is featured in the Fleeca Job – Kuruma heist setup and in The Fleeca Job as the getaway vehicle. The only drawbacks of the armored version over the normal version is that view is significantly obstructed in first person view and the player can only use Handguns or Micro-SMGs.

The performance is slightly different from the stock Karin Kuruma. It shares the same traits as the normal Kuruma, but it is much more durable against collisions and gunshots, due to its bulletproof windows although it is extremely vulnerable to explosives.

#4. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Dinka Jester

Released as part of the Business Update, the Jester, manufactured by Dinka, is heavily based on the 2015 Honda/Acura NSX concept.

Based on a Japanese sports car, the steering and agility of the vehicle are extremely sensitive and responsive, due to the fact that the Dinka Jester is one of the only all-wheel drive sports cars in the game. This also allows the car to have exceptional handling even over slippery or wet surfaces, making it a useful getaway vehicle even in poor conditions.

Due to the fact that there is an electric motor, there is no loss of power during gear shifts, this is very useful when racing and simply wanting a smooth ride. But the Dinka Jester tends to start drifting when driven on dirt roads, most likely due to its large power output. Crash deformation is excellent, and it can take multiple front end collisions without deforming the front wheels.

#3. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Bravado Banshee

This car is based on the 1996-2002 Dodge Viper. The only thing that has changed from the original Dodge Viper is how the car looks; it is still essentially a stock Viper, which means it would have a V10 instead of a V8.

In GTA 5 it is possible to accelerate very quickly with the Bravado Banshee by double clutching. To do so one must accelerate until they hear the car shift into second gear. The second they hear the car shift they must tap the emergency brake for a split second then instantly hit the accelerator. Doing so can make the car accelerate faster than other top performing supercars including the Entity XF and the Pegassi Zentorno.

In GTA 5, this car is one of the very few vehicles which may spawn with chrome as a secondary color although this is a very rare occurrence. Another car which can spawn with chrome is the Vapid Dominator.

#2. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Progen T20

The Progen T20 is a 2-door hypercar introduced in GTA 5 and GTA Online, as part of the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 Update.

Overall, the T20’s main body design is almost identical to the McLaren P1, including the curvature of the hood, the greenhouse area and the rear guards of the car. The T20 is the only vehicle in GTA 5 made by Progen. The car features scissor doors and is the first vehicle in the series to have a functional mechanical spoiler, which automatically raises at approximately 40 mph and has different modes for driving, braking, and idling.

The T20’s $2,200,000 price tag makes it the most expensive land vehicle in GTA Online. It is also the most expensive vehicle to insure, costing $27,500.

#1. Top 10 Cars in GTA 5: Pegassi Zentorno

The Pegassi Zentorno is designed as an exotic high-performance vehicle, with very aggressive styling cues and a very low, sloped body for added aerodynamic effects. It is heavily based on the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento featuring the overall shape, hexagonal vents in the back of the car, twin roof scoops and triangular vents on the hood.

The Pegassi Zentorno has a top speed of 213 mph (343 km/h). it is the fifth fastest vehicle in the game, behind the Grotti Cheetah’s 220 mph (354 km/h), Pegassi Osiris’ 230 mph (370 km/h), Overflod Entity XF’s 240 mph (386 km/h), and Truffade Adder’s 250 mph (403 km/h). In the hands of a skilled driver, this car is overall one of the best vehicles for racing, getaways, and casual cruising.

However, when compared to the Osiris, the Zentorno loses in terms of top speed and cornering, as the Zentorno actually weighs 1,500 kg, compared to the Osiris’ 1,350 kg; the higher weight stat actually hampers cornering abilities. The Osiris only has a slightly higher drag coefficient and slower acceleration.
